"Capturing the true innocent spirit of a child is one of the greatest joys of this profession"

It's Picture Day!!

Here are a few "tips" to make you and your child's experience a relaxed, fun session.

Clothing: The style and color of your child's outfit should coordinate with the location of the portrait. Balance your choice of color and style with the environment. If the session is taking place in the studio think about what the end product will look like and how and where you will display it. When out of doors, simple, traditional clothing works best.

Style: Speaking of style…what is your style; traditional, bold, playful, formal, informal. Remember first to accent the face with clothing and not overpower children with too much color or pattern. Simple, timeless clothing is usually best. When photographing in the studio, few props are used. Personal props work well, a family heirloom, a toy, a blanket. Sometimes, less is more where props are concerned.

Good Planning: Children come to our studio with different expectations and emotions. Remember to select the time of day that is best for your child and arrive relaxed yourself. Photographing children in a home atmosphere gives your child a chance to "settle in" before we start the session. Every stage of a child's life is different…good planning will help to make every stage a precious memory.

Our Family Session

Limiteditions custom portraiture line stands alone. We are creating your family heirloom. Recording your family history with a professional family portrait takes time and thought. Limiteditions Photography is there to help.

Over the years Limiteditions Photography has evolved into a custom, service-oriented business catering to clientele who demand and expect extra time and attention.

Memorable portraits take careful planning. Our portraits are unique and specially designed for you. Choose to have you portrait taken in our studio, formally or informally, or outdoors in an environmental setting. Or perhaps you might choose to have a portrait taken at your home or up north in a picturesque setting that is private and personal. We offer a commissioned artist series for whatever style you have in mind.

About Clothing, Color, Tone and Style…The goal of a fine portrait is to direct the viewer's attention to the face or faces in the portrait. In a family portrait choose clothing in the same tonal range so that no single member of the family stands out. Proper clothing allows the face to dominate the portrait. Solid, mid-tones photograph best. Lighter clothing draws attention away from the face. Bright colors overpower the face. Stripes and plaids are confusing to the eye.

The style of your portrait should reflect your home and lifestyle. When choosing clothing keep in mind where the portrait will hang. You might consider a more formal look for your portrait if it will hang in a more formal area of your home.

Creating Your Family Heirloom. Limiteditions Photography offers another way to display your family portraits. Our Heirloom Album is a custom designed 24 page album similar to our Children's Heirloom Series. A collection of portraits from one to five portraits sessions are displayed in each library-bound album. Many clients choose to create a family album as well as an album for each of their children.

Special rates are offered when you choose to a Family Heirloom Album.

Capture and preserve your family memories…they are uniquely yours.
